Friederike Kury
Friederike began playing the violin and piano at the age of six. When, at eleven, she played the violin in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s cult musical Jesus Christ Superstar, her passion for musicals was ignited. She studied dance, singing and acting at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg with distinction. After a successful appearance at the 46th German Singing Competition, Friederike was awarded the Charles Kálmán Chanson Prize. Numerous engagements followed, including at the Altes Schauspielhaus in Stuttgart, the Schmidt Tivoli Theater in Hamburg, the Schwäbisch Hall open-air festival, the Schauspiel Leipzig and the Brothers Grimm Festival. When Friederike is not actively on stage, she devotes herself to her own ideas for new musicals, writing and composing lyrics and music.
